but herb, it's time. You've had too long. I don't want an NCAA championship. I just want to be competitive in the ACC. I want to beat Carolina. I want to beat Duke. I want to have a shot at winning the ACC tourney... it's time.

Yeah I've defended Herb for a long time now because he really has turned this program around and got us going in a good direction, but these past 2-3 weeks I have watched the #2 team in the ACC(and a top 15 team) turn into complete garbage and no longer compete with even the worst teams in the ACC(during an off season at that).

I would love to keep Herb on as a recruiter but that isn't going to happen, and if we can find a SUITABLE(and by suitable I mean proven head coach that can bring in some recruiting and fire to our team) then I'm all for Herb being released. BUT, I don't know of any coaches that could come in and coach as well and recruit as well right off the bat.

Any ideas?

Tomorrow, when I'm playing golf in some great weather, like I should have done today, I'm going to pretend my ball is Sendek's face.

hahaha you must be kidding. Herb has a worse graduation rate than K, Duke's alums have done better for themselves after college than ours have, and quite a few of Herb's alums have been in trouble with the law after they have left.


I don't know what magic measure of "good player, good student, good people" you are using.

It's definitely time for Herb to pack his bags. He did a good job of raising the bar from what Les Robinson had done......but simply making the NCAAs aren't good enough anymore. We've got the facilities and people who are willing to shell out the cash now and there are certain expectations that go along with that. This string of losses will definitely hurt our seating in the tourney and it could very well be a one and done for us.

FIRE HERB SENDEK BECAUSE..... He never adapts to any situation.

1. Give the ball more to simmons, spread the paint and give it to him downlow instead of at the top of the key. He is a very moody player.... let him have some one on one and he will do well. If they double down your in your princeton spread, so kick out for the three shot ( WITH HIM UNDER THE BASKET). So many of our threes we have no 1 anywhere near the basket to rebound.

2. ADJUST ADJUST ADJUST..... If we had ROY ( yes i said it) we would have beaten wake today. There were alot of mismatches on both sides of the ball... Skip Proser used theres ( williams down low on grant or evtimov) and we didnt use ours at all ( ball drives on williams from evtimov)

3. In previous seasons we havent had the talent to compete so I said good job herb with what you had... this year we have one of the best centers in the ACC gaurds who can shoot the rock... and pretty good depth.... HERB BE GONE PLEASE ( even tho we all know he is staying)

With all this said we will not one and done in the NCAA.... 2 wins and then we loose

^uh, simmons on williams was a mismatch. We have to own up --Simmons sucks. Sendek has never developed a big man and never will. Simmons might stop sucking by his senior year.

we lost to a desperate team with a senior center who could have left for the nba last season

its an unfortunate slump at the end of the season.

but to discount the past experiences so quickly is not real thought out

^^^^ You'd have to be pretty blind if you didn't see the difference in the way we played today. We did adapt to the last game. It just didn't work.

Our defense disappeared. They shot over 50%. Gavin Grant was the only person who shot free throws today. Wake played their hearts out. They had to. And obviously, we match up horribly against them.
