http://www.rasterwerks.com/game/phosphor/beta1.htm

Copied from joystiq:

Quote :
"Joystiq reader Ryan stumbled upon a multi-player browser-based first-person shooter (that's a mouthful) called Phosphor. The game, developed by Rasterwerks, is in beta so it's not without it's problems. It locked up our mouse in Firefox when playing, but the overall initial experience was rather smooth and impressive. Check it out!

Note: this baby takes more load time than a PSP and you'll need to have Shockwave 10.1 to run it."

Pretty neat little FPS. Framerate isn't the best, but I was unaware Shockwave was capable of such advanced graphics.
Pretty spiffy game for b

Took 1 min to load ... you don't need need to install the thing it prompts you for.

Nice graphics for Macromedia Technology. I'm always curios to what limits people can push their technology ... homestarrunner.com does some interesting things with flash.

im actually very impressed in ran at all on my shit ass laptop. And it ran well, about 30fps. Too bad I couldnt find anyone to kill.

btw, shockwave is NOT FLASH. They are completely different monsters. It's a bit like Visual Basic versus Visual C++

I'm impressed here too.

I wonder when it will evolve into a multiplayer game.

I had to switch the rendered to OpenGL (since I have a Mac), and it ran okay (20 FPS or so). Then, when I enabled 7 bots on the medium skill level, frame rates plummeted to about 7. This is on a 1.5Ghz G4 btw.
