i was parked in an sv lot on sat. sv lots are available for weekend parking. the whole lot that i was parked in is in misrepair, so no lines are present. employee vehicles park in this lot all the time during the week.

I park in this lot every weekend and just got a ticket now, after 2 weeks of parking there.

it's the lot right behind winson and tucker. i did no park in front of the 2 dumpsters. i petitioned it and gave this this crappy diagram

has anyone else encountered this problem. im guessing that petitions are usually ignored and it's almost impossible to get a parking ticket repealed.

i petitioned one from when i parked in a construction zone for 2 hours, the day before break, when it was raining, so they weren't even parking there. took like a month, but they took $20 off the $40 fine.

not too shabby, i wrote them an essay, and that diagram i hope it works, the ticket is bullshit just like yours was. if i was in the wrong then i would just accept the ticket.. and not pay

sorry lemme clarify. i had a pass for the sullivan lot. yet i came out to my car on a sunday night and i had a ticket. and the ticket was for parking in a totally different lot without a permit.

IE i have a permit for lot "A" and was parked in lot "A" all weekend yet come out to my car (still in lot "A") to find a ticket for parking in lot "B" without a lot "B" permit on sunday night.

Yeah, you should've included more buildings/roads in that map.

And would it kill you to remove all that whitespace?

have you heard of the crop tool? but those damn ticketers are trying to find as much money as they can now after that K-12 court thingy of NCSU paying millions.

Not only are they raising the price of permits next year, but they are also getting rid of the free lot on centennial campus and making that a permit only zone, I believe its going to be E permit. I drive my car maybe once every two weeks or so when its really really shitty outside to drive to school, so having that ability to drive a car and park for free for that one day is great for me, then I'll take the motorcycle for the rest of the time. I don't want to spend some 300 bucks on a permit of when I'll only use it like 5 times out of a semester.

^ My commute to campus everyday depends on that park and ride lot. Taking that away has pissed off a lot of people.

toyotafj40s were you even parking in a dedicated lined space? If not then the ticket is valid. I worked for transportation for the years of 2001-2004 as the only student ticketing officer those years. 98% of the tickets I wrote in that lot were for not parking in a parking space or parking in an SV/AV area [during the week]. I'm not sure if debbie still does the appeals but if so, she's cool but is not likey to help you much. Its a thing where you have the burden of proof because you are assumed guilty.

I did that for my first semester but I moved my car to a park and ride lot. Man that got old really quick.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME TOO

at least from what your diagram seems like it might be saying. I parked by the doors into Witherspoon in what looks to be a legal parking space. I walked out there saturday afternoon, and there was a $50 ticket on it for parking in a "non assigned parking space"

thats total crap. people park there all the time, and it looks like a space you can park. The SV sign is BEFORE the space on the road coming in. There are almost NO PARKING LINES back there because of construction and junk. There is not a no parking sign, the only one is toward cates where there is a loading zone.

I'm def. gonna petition this crap.. and then appeal it if i have to. It's one thing if I obviously parked in an illegal spot, then I would agree and pay for it. To charge me for something this controversial is crap and they should at least give me a warning this time

I'm pretty sure if you don't pay your parking tickets, you'll have some troubles with the DMV too. Now that DMV finally have 386 computer systems that are networked with 14.4k modem networks, they can track your registration and cross reference with unpaid tickets and citations. oh snap!

my friend had about 4 unpaid parking tickets and then the next time he was parked illegally he got a boot on his car, and another ticket, and inorder to remove the boot you have to pay all your tickets. ended up being 300 some dollars to get his car back.

ps. i see boots on cars all the time in the harris parking lot.

I used bolt cutters to take off the boot when I got it on campus.

I put it on the ticket-bitch's car in the middle of the night.

Then when I got a nasty call, I told them that I was sick and needed to drive to student health and there was a boot on my car. If they wanted the $10 for the padlock, I'd be more than willing to provide it for them.
