Funny thing, I am actually thinking about implementing a camera to catch the lazy fucks that let their dog shit in my yard and not clean it up.

Of course, I'm not going to kill someone over it. I'll just bag it up for them and leave it on their door step with a kind note saying they need to clean up after their dog.

Wow, so many people here blaming the kid. I'll go for the benefit of the doubt and say that the kid didn't harass the guy - or at least go out of his way to torment the dude Dennis the Menace style. It feels better than giving the old guy the benefit of the doubt, considering the old guy was crazy enough to kill someone over walking on his grass.

This is probably the extent of the harassment...

The kid gets off the bus a few blocks down and cuts through the guys lawn as a shortcut to get to his house. Old guy yells at him to not walk on his grass. The kid, forgetting or ignoring the "crazy old dude" continues to use the shortcut - out of malice or out of carelessness.
