I have no pistols or shotguns (which are always fine, although I think they disallow slugs?), nor do I have any rifles kosher for use at PDHSC. I hear they allow use of .30 Carbine in their range, though.

Last time I asked, any carbine firing a pistol or revolver cartridge was OK, but I don't know if that includes shenanigans like .45-70. You CAN fire .45-70 from a revolver, but it's generally a rifle round. *shrug*

i attempted to sight in my SKS at davis. its not a big time scope. just something i got for like $30. i seemed to have sighted it in, but im sure its out of sight now that it just leans against the wall and people pick it up and probably mess with it.

davis has a target for sighting your scopes.

dude, that's awesome if that's true. I never remember hearing about anything like that, though. Unfortunately, I live in FL now, but post if you find out that there is a 500m range anywhere near raleigh...I'll have to check it out next time I'm home.



500m is a long, long way. See those alternating black and white things on the berm at the end of the range (the last berm before the treeline in the distance)? Those aren't the targets. The targets are the little black specks underneath them, and they're life sized silhouettes of a man's head and torso. I actually scored hits 9/10 shots one time, although I prob only could average about 7/10 or a little better.

haha, that round has only a small fraction of the power of a .50 BMG.
