they played them in actual basketball arenas rather than football domes like the RCA Dome, the Superdome, and the Georgia Dome? i know that these domes allow for more fans to attend the game, but it seems like the fans aren't very close to the action. think about how great that 1994 Championship game between Duke and Arkansas in the old Charlotte Coliseum was. if the NCAA was concerned about making money from tickets, then they could just increase the ticket price. i think it'd make for an overall better atmosphere, and more enjoyable for the fans. remember how a lot of people didn't like going to Spurs games when they played in the Alamo Dome? 3/26/2006 5:32:42 PM |

^^ hence why they could just double the ticket prices. plus you'd have better suites too. besides there are some pretty big basketball arenas out there. Greensboro Coliseum seats 22,000, the older Charlotte Coliseum seated 23,000, the Palace at Auburn Hills seats like 24,000. heck put it in the Staples Center and charge an exorbitant amount of money to all of the celebrities that will come.

always have agreed with this. There are plenty of big basketball arenas that could generate a lot of money (I know not as much) if they were used. It just is horrible to see these huge places with whole areas sectioned off. I don't think fans would mind a change and I know some shooters hate the domes. 3/26/2006 6:24:16 PM |

i wonder why the NCAA doesn't allow the Final Four to happen at college arenas like they used. the last time it was at a college's arena was 85' with Villanova vs. Georgetown, which was held at Rupp Arena.
the last time the Final Four was held at a basketball arena was in 1996, when it was held at the Continental Airlines Arena in N.J. here's where the next few Final Fours will be held:
2007 Atlanta, Georgia Dome 2008 San Antonio, Alamadome 2009 Detroit, Ford Field 2010 Indianapolis, RCA Dome 2011 Houston, Reliant Stadium <---- holy crap 3/26/2006 6:56:50 PM |

heck let's just hold the damn Final Four at 101,000 seat Ohio Stadium.
if a Michigan vs. Michigan State ice hockey game can be held at MSU's Spartan Stadium, i'm sure it could actually be possible.
