Yeah.
Don't install iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer Make sure you can view hidden files Go to My Computer and browse through the folders on your iPod drive. All the songs will have weird names, but at least they'll all be there.

^^ and copy the MP3s off your iPod, and when iTunes re-imports them it'll rename everything from the ID3 tags

to avoid starting a new thread, I tried putting a DVD file 4.5G on my ipod (not a video IPOD) without going through I-tunes by going through my computer and then tried to drag and drop it but it said the file was too big, but there is at least 13G of free space on my IPOD, I'm sure of it, what's the problem? There are file size limits of individual files depending on the partition format. 4/16/2006 10:51:39 PM |

Fat32 has a 4GB file size limit, which might be it. I dunno what filesystem it uses tho. 4/16/2006 10:57:10 PM |

wow, this thread has made it 6 responses without the mandatory "iPod users are corporate tools" comment. Is this a new record?
funny how if you use an Apple computer, you are a "free thinker," but use an Apple audio player and you are a corporate tool.

Yeah, that's the one I had it mind. If I were making a hard drive like the IPod, I would probably have picked Fat32 since it's been around long enough...for whatever so it would be easy to get the OS to interact with it. *shrug*4/17/2006 8:45:10 AM |
