I hate just throwing this type of stuff away too. I just did a bit of spring cleaning and set aside a Kenwood in dash stereo that is about 18 years old. I have a 12V,-12V,5V,3.3V 180W DC-DC power supply that I built and used to power a car computer 14 years ago that has been sitting for about 6 years that I finally decided to stop being sentimental about and commit to the electronics recycling bin.

i hate throwing stuff away, too. I have a fishbowl full of socket 478 and 775 processors, and boxes of desktop and laptop DDR that I couldn't sell (or give away).
