I was driving to work today and my 1998 Land Rover Discovery started to have problems with sputtering and losing power on the highway. I still have plenty of coolant, the head gaskets intact, oil seems to be regular level, ect. What could it be? Fuel pump? 3/29/2006 8:36:10 AM |

ahhh, the discovery. my roomate had a '95 that encurred the same problem for quite sometime. it was a sporadic thing, occurring whenever it wanted to. if i recall correctly, it did happen the worst on longer trips, on the highway at speed....however, it does get worse.
he took it to triangle imports, and they tried a bunch of different stuff, claimed they'd fixed it, charged him out the ass, and it started doing it again the day after we picked it up from them. they wouldn't make good on it either (read: don't go to triangle imports).
he finally was able to get rid of that piece, and got a used toyota tacoma, which he's way happier with, despite its dings and dents...my only advice would be for you to get rid of the discovery - they're proven to be nothing but trouble! 3/29/2006 12:58:45 PM |
