Any experience with these tires, or any other budget "performance" tires, with decent tread wear? General Exclaim UHP- $79 Kuhmo ECSTA Supra 712- $87 Kuhmo ECSTA SPT- $91 Sumitomo HTR Z II- $92 BFGoodrich g-Force Sport- $106 Yokohama AVS ES100- $118 Kumho ECSTA MX- $119
Need new tires on the maxima, and have never dealt with any of these tires before. I have had some bald BFG g-Force Sports before.
Thanks

ecsta supras tend to be a long wearing tire we install a lot of those at work, stay away from the g-forces, the michelin harmony is a great all season tire for the money, its worth a little more for a long term investment, i've seen em go 80k+, the michelin pilot exalto is also a super long wearing wearing performance tire, comparable to the kumho exsta in price

mx es100 spt g-force sport htr-z 2 712 general
dry grip, good to crap
spt g-force general 712 htr mx es100
wet grip, good to scary
i think the spt is best choice for budget performance tire. good grip in dry and wet plus decent life and fairly quiet.

I get my tires locally (installed) for about 10% cheaper than online.
Looks like I need to look into the spt , mx, and the g-force so far. 3/29/2006 7:37:30 PM |

I priced tires on that edge racing site:
195/60R14 Falken Azenis Rt615 are $64/tire
195/60R15 Falken Ziex Ze512 are $37/tire
shipping & handling is $62.88 for all eight tires. total is $466.88.
Anyone have anything negative to say about those Ziex or know of any better deals? 3/29/2006 8:20:22 PM |

the ziex is a decent tire
the azenis 615s (the "new" azenis) have gotten good reviews for having excellent traction. not sure about the treadlife, but it sucked on the old azenis. 3/29/2006 10:45:44 PM |

i am getting the Falken Azenis Rt615 14's to throw on the basket weaves for track/autocross, i say that even though i have never tracked or autocrossed, but i will by god in the year 2006. i am going to throw the Falken Ziex Ze512 15's on some koseis and use them as my dailys, i read they have a pretty long wear life. 3/30/2006 12:09:42 AM |

I recently had ECSTA ASXs put on my car, I like them so far...haven't put a lot of miles on them yet though. I don't know how they compare to the ECSTA Supra or SPT though. 3/30/2006 12:16:34 AM |

There may be one or two autoX or Drag strip trips during the life of these tires. I will be building this car for the next year at least. 3/30/2006 1:03:27 PM |

oh well i was talking about doc rambo, but still.
dont get some stiff side wall tires for the strip. it defeats the whole purpose. 3/30/2006 1:10:47 PM |
