Come anyway just because Brackman is not pitching!
Until that last start against UVA, he has pitched badly. 4/5/2006 7:10:54 PM |

All 3 are pretty damn good
Hobson was good too, but he's getting shelled this year, as is Jason Duncan. They should be ok coming out of the bullpen the rest of the year though, so all around we have pretty good pitching.
Surkamp is probably my favorite. I dont know what it is about him. He has a NICE move to first, and he gets it to the plate quickly. Good lefty. 4/5/2006 7:30:52 PM |

Hobson was our best pitcher last year other than Brackman. He had a no-hitter for crying out loud. I don't know what the deal is this year. Hopefully he will get it back. 4/5/2006 7:39:44 PM |

yea just think about next year with Brackman/Surkamp/McConnell and getting Stallings back who was lights out last season. Surkamp has a filthy curveball. our pen needs to pick it up a bit going into the home stretch of conference games. right now Walls/High/Engle are top guys now with McLaurin getting better each outing and Brookens making progress since the start of the season. Duncans started out rough so far but think he just needs to get comfortable from the bullpen since starting. another guy everyone might want to keep an eye for is Rutter...his stuff is sick. 4/5/2006 7:40:37 PM |

^Yeah I know. Hobson is just a junior so add him to that mix as well. He has good stuff, he just has to get it together.
If we can keep Bates around another year to go along with Still and Mangini.....WOW.
V Bates is listed as a Redshirt Junior but he really prolly is not coming back.

Bates is a senior who was drafted last year in the 6th round. 4/5/2006 7:47:30 PM |

^7 ... brackman didn't really have "sick" stuff.. he was pretty much all over the place, had quite a few walks... it was better than previous outings but hardly sick 4/5/2006 7:59:20 PM |

i highly doubt Bates comes back next year. an 8th round pick last year by the Marlins and picking up where he left off too.
thats the crazy thing about Brackman, looked a lot better than previously but not like last year and still had 10ks in 7 innings. just gets better with each game. 4/5/2006 9:05:07 PM |

how can you "highly doubt" bates will come back next year when he was already drafted? If you're drafted after you enter college, you have to be in college for 3 years, meaning that Bates...unless redshirted, is a senior....and I highly doubt he was redshirted considering his size and power.4/5/2006 9:28:19 PM |

if you knew anything about our baseball team then you would know that Bates played his freshman year at San Jose St. and then sat out and redshirted next season when his dad passed away. last season made him a redshirt sophmore for us and he got drafted last season. which means he can comeback next year as a redshirt senior but with the numbers he put up last year and the numbers he's putting up this year means there's an even better chance of him getting drafted higher than the 8th round. which means we theres a better chance of him going pro than coming back here. 4/5/2006 9:56:00 PM |

a simple "he transfered" would have been sufficient.
For some reason I always get him and Matt Camp confused between which one of the transfered, which is stupid cause they look nothing alike...still...I do. 4/5/2006 10:24:02 PM |

everyone should come Saturday...the game is on TV so we should make sure we have a good crowd and especially make our presence felt on the hill
Ok I just checked the gopack.com schedule and foxsports tv lineup and couldn't find anything saying it was on TV on the schedule or that it would be on FSN...it might be on another channel, might not be on. We had been told that this game would be on TV, maybe they changed it.
