Jake is a few months old, I believe around 13 weeks, but I'm not completely sure. You can adopt him through the rescue organization, http://soundpet.org He was found by some people that turned him and his siblings over to the rescue.

He is a black lab mix, around 14lbs. I'm guessing he'll be medium-sized when fully grown. He's really sweet and loves being near you. He loves playing with our puppy and loves people.

I'll have him at AniMall this Saturday from 12-4pm if anyone wants to meet him. http://www.animall.org/

The adoption age required is 21, but they may make exceptions for those well-qualified. They just want to ensure that the person will have the time to devote to a pet (versus a college student that may have too much school, work, extracurricular activities going on, or something like that). These are great people to work with.

I failed to mention that he will be updated on shots and neutered by adoption time.

why do puppies have to be so damn cute.

I've got two, and that pic makes me want number 3, but I must refrain.

I'm sure that you won't have any trouble getting him adopted.

The adoption fee for dogs is $150-175, covering physical exam, shots, neuter, microchip. It's a rescue so they get all their money back from the adoption fee. I don't know if they get many donations since they're relatively new.

The "little brown guy " is my female puppy, Bailey They are constantly playing when he's out of his crate.

He's doing great - always playing with my pup, and loves attention and cuddling up against you. He's now had a couple days without accidents indoors, after only a week of training. He'll be a very loyal dog - he loves being with us.

Daytona's new name is Shamus A mom and daughter from Minnesota were looking at colleges here and applied for him, and since they'll be back in a month they will most likely adopt him.

Yep I still have Jake. He's discovered laps and looooves curling up and sleeping on mine.

He's hardly grown in this week I've had him. I'm betting he won't be bigger than 30lbs full grown.

Yep poor pup is still here. I'm taking him in for his second round of shots this week.

He was so tired after AniMall that he slept next to me while I napped. It was so cute Playing with other dogs and meeting new people for 2.5 hrs will do that to a puppy.

Here are two new pics from today!

he looks like my pup, annie. annie is light brown, but they have the same "flaw" with their right ear, white chest patch, and white toes. we're pretty sure annie is a pit bull mix (w/ probably lab), and she is currently ~40 lbs @ 9 months.

I didn't notice the "flaw" until you mentioned it. That's interesting b/c we've been guessing it's pit bull mixed in there.

He's made huge strides in the housetraining, and has had very few mistakes the last few days. No accidents in the apartment, but one here and there in his crate. Which is odd since that's supposed to be the last place he should want to have an accident. He knows to do his business first when I take him outside, and then he gets to play.

He's a very smart pup, and loves people and other animals (except little critters like birds and squirrels outside that he likes to run after). He loves tennis balls, among other toys. I have this squeaky ball with feet (they're pretty popular so animal-lovers probably know what I'm talking about) that he looooves.

He's now about 3.5 months old, weighs ~18lbs. He has a cute little white spot above his nose. He's so freaking loving and cute!

pm received and responded to, thanks!

Jake is almost four months old now, if not already. We're not completely accurate down to the week, but I've had him about four weeks now and he was estimated at ~3 months when I first got him.

We're waiting to see if someone can get approval from their apt complex, so hopefully Jake has a new home soon. I'll update this when we find out!

Before Jake's adopted he'll get his rabies shot and that's the last thing he needs for a year. Whoever gets this cute, sweet puppy is getting a deal! Many puppies don't have all their shots before going to new homes, but with the same adoption fee.

Great news - Jake made huge strides in the last week with housetraining! He's being soooo great with it. We're going to try to teach him some stuff like "sit" and such now.

He's about 5 months old now, and after seeing my brother's dog, I'm pretty sure Jake has pit bull with the lab in him.

He was 3.5 months old when he was brought to the rescue as a stray, so he wasn't housebroken then either. He has been slower than other puppies I've dealt with, but he understands that outside is the bathroom. I just haven't bothered with much obedience training until the housetraining seemed to near an end.

Other than the occasional accident, he's a great dog.
