...it's the Spring game.
It's not like no one is talking about going to the home opener.

i'm going into this season, my last as a student (Dec. graduate), with no expectations. if we win, great! if we lose, eh, no big deal. i'm just going to go out there, tailgate hardcore, and cheer on the Pack as hard as i can. 4/7/2006 9:26:29 PM |

From today's technician

haha, I don't think that came out right
But about the practice, Baker did well, had a 64 yard TD run, 114 yards over 9 carries. Stone threw an INT, almost threw a second one, our 3rd string QB threw an INT, had a 60 yrd run for TD, and a 60 yrd pass for TD4/10/2006 9:06:04 AM |

Our QB's still suck and our defense isn't that great.

hahah at least he didnt say he had slave feet
the QB run for 60 is encouraging...but was that because he has good QB speed or just the horrible D?4/10/2006 9:19:32 AM |

^The QB is fast as shit (Greco)...but it was against the 3rd string D.
Our QB situation is really horrible right now. Reports are that Stone looked no better than he did last year. Evans and Greco will be fighting it out for 2nd string. Apparently Evans didn't look that bad throwing the ball and Greco is really athletic and isn't too bad of a thrower either.
Also...our receivers dropped a lot of passes.
But our running game looked great. 4/10/2006 9:27:33 AM |

is there any chance Burke will get the starting nod? 4/10/2006 9:43:36 AM |

Seriously...how the hell would anyone know if Burke has a chance to be a starter when he is sitting right now in a class in HIGH SCHOOL???
Honestly...there aren't too many kids who can come in from high school and start a major D-1 program. If Burke could have graduated early and come im during the Spring like Rivers...then there's a shot. But rarely do you see a kid come to the team in the fall and start by the first game (even if he comes early in the summer it doesn't happen much).
In my opinion...I think we should throw Greco in there and have some fun. He can't be that much worse of a passer than Stone and he's a lot faster (I'm sorry, but Stone is not that fast). Let's run a shotgun, give Tony/Andre/Eugene the ball and run bootlegs and QB Draws with Greco all day. It's our only chance of having a productive offense.

^It really doesn't matter how good he is...even top 10 QBs rarely come in and start from day 1 (and he's not a top 10 QB). 4/10/2006 10:04:40 AM |

the kid needs to put on some weight. i saw him at the heritage game in reynolds and went up and shook his hand, the kid needs to put on like 20lbs before they even think about putting him on the field. granted this was 5 months ago, so perhaps he has beefed up since, but i doubt it. 4/10/2006 10:07:39 AM |

that isn't such a good way to put that
top 10 QB's normally go to good schools, good schools usually have talented depth. So of course someone would be coming in and waiting behind some other people. If Burke was a top 10 QB, I'm pretty sure he would be neck and neck with stone for the starting job.
well . . . knowing our coaches . . . he could be the #1 QB in the country and still be 5th on the depth chart 4/11/2006 7:53:28 AM |

^Dumb. Philip Rivers graduated early and was in practice since the Spring. He had like 8 months to learn the offense. I said that earlier in the thread. 4/11/2006 8:33:34 AM |

Who gives a fuck if Burke knows the offense.
Stone is entering his fourth season and they are still teaching him to read from left to right.
I have a better grasp of the offense than that clown does. 4/11/2006 6:51:16 PM |
