apparently bausch&lomb renu w/ moisture-loc is being cited as correlating with some kind fungal eye infection, recalled or something.

My Mom sent me the above article a few days ago. Now she's all freaked out about my eyes (and I don't use ReNu - I use the trusty, cheapo Target brand)

this sucks, i just bought two huge bottles of this stuff and i LOVE it. Its the first solution that doesnt dry out within hours.

^^thanks for noticing the generic part - I skimmed by that. No wonder Mom freaked out (we're a very eye-conscious family - she's been blind in one eye since birth, dad's eyesight is horrible, mine isn't all that great, and so on and so forth with the remainder of the family)...I'll check the box when I get home and see where it's manufactured.

the solution itself is not contaminated.

they speculate that the chemical make-up of the solution encourages fungus growth on the eye.

i had some type of eye infection, can't remeber the name, but it took 90 days and eye drops to stop the spred of the infection. after that i swtiched to one a day contacts, so far they have been awesome. the best part is no solution.

the infection i had was something was wrong with a duct in my eye that thought that contact was "dirt" so it relased this goo that would make it damn need impossible to put my contact in. it was pretty sick.
