http://www.collegefootballnews.com/2006/Features/HistoricalDebate_QB_RC.htm
I think they do this every year because I remember seeing it before but I guess they update it... they go through and rank each school at each position for their entire history. Who is the best RB school, best WR school etc. They do it two different ways, one just looks at college production, and the other looks at both college and pro. Here are the top 5 for the second one:
QB: Miami BYU - bullshit USC Washington - more bullshit Michigan
RB: Ohio State USC - would have them #1 probably Penn State Auburn Miami
WR: Florida Tennessee USC Miami Michigan
TE: ND Miami Michigan BYU Penn State
OL: USC Michigan Nebraska Ohio State Penn State 4/17/2006 12:49:35 AM |

I just think that other schools should be higher if you count college and NFL... BYU was really heavy on the college side because of the wacky conference they were in. I am suprised ND wasnt higher just for Theisman and Montana alone
Purdue too

we'll who do you think should be in their place. you really haven't done anything other than say, "bullshit"
and BYU should be where they are based upon Young and McMahon solely (using your logic). 4/17/2006 1:16:08 AM |

No, thats not using my logic... Montana and Theisman did better when combining college and pro than Young and McMahon did when combining college and pro.
For QB I would have
Miami Purdue ND USC Michigan 4/17/2006 1:19:45 AM |

Both Young and McMahon have super bowl rings and were consitantly at the top of their class. What about Ty Detmer too? Man won a national Championship in Football.
^you also lose all credibility with Purdue at number 2

UGA needs to be in there for Running Back. The only explanation is if it was heavily weighted to the last couple years, in which case BYU doesn't belong that high for QB. 4/17/2006 8:16:19 AM |

you are crazy.
and McMahon was nowhere near as good as Theisman or Montana, he had a few decent years on a really good team (in the NFL), thats all.4/17/2006 11:53:32 AM |

eat a dick
BYU QB stats are inflated because of their system and the shitty fucking conference they were in... the only one that has done anything in the NFL aside from playing on a really good team is Young 4/17/2006 2:49:20 PM |

Penn State is definately a RB school when it comes to the pros. I mean, look at all of those successful pro RBs theyve had, like Ki-Jana Carter. 4/17/2006 2:54:43 PM |
