I am living in a 4br/4ba place on Gorman, on the wolfline. right now I pay $300 per month and that includes some utilities. I like the place I live but when my lease is up next month, the owner of the condo wants me to pay $350. So i'm wondering, anybody know how much utilities in University oaks would run? or how much other privately owned condos rent rooms for (other than lakepark). thanks

In those 4br/4ba tenement hamster buildings, I'd imagine you could do much better.

^^ I'd bet that he's not paying that in Raleigh, which implies that purchasing something probably will be way more than that. But, if it is in this area, then, yeah you're definitely right.

Right now, I pay $1025/month - 2 BR - Charleston, SCWhen I was in Raleigh, I had roomates and my part was:$400/month - Collegeview Ave, Raleigh (Townhome 3ways)$315/month - Walnut St, Cary (Shithole house 4ways)I dont think you will do much better than $300 unless you split more than 4 ways.

Something to look into is Champion Court across the street from Sammy's. I lived there over the past academic year and its a pretty cool place. Renting through BeckleeRealEstate.com--We live in a 3BR condo (upstairs/downstairs) for 900/month + utilities (she pays for water) so i usually pay about 385-400 total each month. They were built in the 70s so they don't look like much from the outside but inside is pretty nice. Becklee is a good landlady and is flexible with leasing time periods. I know she has at least one place already up for rent and we are moving out May 10 so if you want more info just go to her website.

I like in University Oaks. I sure as hell hope you do not live there currently and pay $300 for rent (if that's what you're referring to, you lost me a bit there). Anywho, rent is $225 and with utilities it's never over $300.

I'm at Ivy Commons (a mile south of campus off of avent ferry).2br/2ba, $600/month, electric is $70-116 (averaging about 85) with water being about $33-42. Cable w/ internet and DVR is $107/mo. So we spend about $400 a month each with utilities, and it's pretty nice here. You should move, screw the rent raise.

to the girl who originally posted: if you are not set on leaving this complex talk to the lady that runs the place I rent from her. If you talk to her your rent will be $300 plus utilities. You can find some places here that are cheaper.[Edited on April 18, 2006 at 8:05 PM. Reason : :]

I pay $375 w/ 2 roomies ($375 per person) @ Cent. Village on the Wolfline...I think it's a great deal personally since all utilities (including internet and cable TV) are included.I'll be moving soon after graduation to a ~1600 square foot home, 2-car garage, 2-stories, large yard in a nice community. 10 minutes from a huge mall, tons of stores/eateries, etc.Mortgage = $546/monthI love the low cost of living there...
