the way this is normally done is to read off some of the names of people (that we know from diaries and other sources) that died on that same day. another way this is to done is to read "representatives", meaning try to read off a few names from each of the ethnic groups that suffered (jews, gypsys, poles, etc etc)

That can easily be done by 10 people saying 2 names/sec each for 12 hours.
