Have some stainless I need welded. Also, anyone have a good local source for stainless tube?

i've had some luck welding stainless (cookware) w/ the right wire in a mig

Ill take a look @ what you have, As for the tubing try here http://www.mscdirect.com/
You can but 3 foot sections from them, What diameter and wall thickness are you looking for?

Taylor- whats up man? Do you think it would hold up to a pretty high stress application? What wire did you use?

gk2004- Its 1", not sure of the wall thickness, but I can measure. Its for the T-top on a boat. You can see in the pic below where it was cut off. I'd like it to extend about 5' back and then i can get a piece of canvas made for it. Doesn't have to be pretty; just keep the sun off me.

You might try to find a piece of tubing that fits inside of the exisiting tubing to weld in. It would be alot stronger. I can do it if you can get it off of the boat.

no i wouldn't trust it to anything under much of a load. I didn't know what application you wanted. I've just used it for fixing pot handles, stuff like that
