I've been trying to get a copy of my car key done and have had no luck. I've been to three different places and they've all said they couldn't do it because they don't carry that style of key.
i have an 87 toyota mr2 and the key works for both the doors and ignition.
anyone know a good place that should do it?
here's a picture

I know for my nissan they sell "nissan motorsports blanks", they have blanks on ebay. You buy the blank there and then take it to a hardware store to get it cut. 4/23/2006 5:22:47 PM |

they should have the blank at the hardware store, im not understanding why they didnt have one for your car. what places did you go?
but if no hardware stores have it (which i dont believe) you would buy a blank online (ebay, etc...) and then take it to any place with a machine and have them copy it. it would probably be a wise decision to go ahead and buy two blanks if you go this route because sometimes making a copy of a copy (to a degree that you dont know) for a 19 year old car doesnt work well. 4/23/2006 5:37:09 PM |

technically you could make a key from a photograph so anyone here could steal your 87 MR2. 4/24/2006 6:10:10 PM |
