You sand it, I'll paint it.
What kind of color do you want?
First of all, remember that there is no such thing as cheap automotive paint. The absolute cheapest you can get would be to use something like Sherwin-Williams' cheaper Dimension line. Or PPG's Omni Gold line.
Total paint costs, even for that little bit of paint, are likely to exceed 40 or 50 dolla, unless you find somebody who's got all the stuff already (as in bought it in bulk).
If you want Nissan Ruby Sapphire metallic or Acura Polar White, I can hook a nigga up.
Anything else, you hafta get. Car Quest automotive paint and supply over on North Market Drive or Automotive Parts Warehouse over offa Cabarrus near the train station. 4/24/2006 9:51:29 PM |

^40-50 a gallon is pretty good. I'm no expert, but for dark shades/hue's 1/2 gallon should be enough to cover a whole car. 4/24/2006 10:25:18 PM |

Pretty sure I mean per pint for the good stuff.
I can do prime, base, and clear for about that much with the cheap stuff.

And totally unheard of if you buy a decent paint. I can get alkyd enamels that cheap, but that's it. And that's just the paint...no reducer, no hardener (and I won't paint without hardener), no clear, no nothing.4/24/2006 10:57:22 PM |

Is where I got the paint I used on the replacement door handle for my Lincoln. $38.24 per pint of dupont chromabase. That was for a tri-coat color though, so it ended up being separate cans of the base color and the pearl. (After thinning, still ended up being only 1 pint worth of paint). Adding in a spray can of clear, some primer, and an aerosol sprayer, everything ended up running me about $65. A lot of money for such a small part in my case, but I've got plenty left over and I wanted to try doing it myself.4/24/2006 11:33:07 PM |

for a frame just use acrylic enamel and lay it on thick, then if it gets scratched you can polish it out 4/25/2006 8:24:27 AM |

Yeah, that's true, decent paint is pretty expensive. Clear is expensive too. Anyone know why paint prices have been rising a bit? atleast for the clear? 4/25/2006 11:21:55 AM |
