k, heard that you used to could take an appliance to an auto paint shop and have it painted any color you wanted. first off, was/is this still true? second, is there another way to paint an appliance and it look good?

reason i ask is because i want to paint my washer and dryer fuschia la the spray and wash commercial [/girly]

spray paint damnit

sand the white finish (i'm assuming) thats on there now down so that it's not glossy anymore and paint with the gay fuschia

haha i'm female so it is ok for me to have "gay" appliances and for people to laugh.

definitely no to spray paint. i want them to look like they came in the colors. and i want the clear coat on top. plus, i don't feel like doing it myself.

i'm sorry but as "cute" as they would be, it kind of seems like a waste.

if you really want them to look like they came new as those colors you'll probably end up spending more than you want to.

if you have money I'm sure they can do it

and if they're professional at all they won't give you shit about it

well i kind of look at it like any other piece of furniture or accessory. my laundry room stays open all the time (since the cat's box is in there) so i'd like it to look pretty and festive. i'm planning on painting the room, adding some shelving, and then maybe having the appliances painted. they are pretty nice ones so i don't feel like buying new ones (tho i love the burnt orange whirlpools but even they don't come in that lovely spray and wash fuschia ) i figure, why not? i'll call up a paint shop and see how hard they laugh.

*note, won't be doing any of this til we move

thx

They sell an appliance epoxy spray paint at Lowes, I painted by old stove with it. Looks good but its a pain unless you like sanding/painting and taking stuff apart.

^what he said.

i've sprayed several stoves w/ appliance paint and you can't even tell they didn't come that way from the factory.

when i've had pieces painted, i used an electrostatic paint process. it's rather durable.

the only colors I've seen in the appliance paint at home depot are black and white
