and you think it's the client as opposed to a network problem? 4/27/2006 12:11:07 PM |

it seems like it to me. i first installed gaim 2.0 beta 3 and this problem happend. i just assumed that it was a beta issue so i switched to the released version. but it still will not stay connected. i dont know what else to try. i have also tried multiple aim screen names with the same result. i guess it could also be something weird with my computer too.

im running the older gaim and it works fine for me. i have a similar issue with regular aim though, reconnects every 10 seconds (so i use gaim). 4/27/2006 12:53:50 PM |

I figured it out. It was the GTK +2 runtime thing. I had the latest version. i installed and older version and now it works. 4/27/2006 1:19:55 PM |

ok, here's my problem with Gaim: I can't use my normal sn.
Every time I try to log in, it tells me "Incorrect nickname/password" Trust me, the username and password were typed correctly.
I tried logging in with my alternative sn, and it worked fine. I think the problem lies with the fact that my usual sn is an AOL account instead of an AIM account.
Anyone know of a fix for this? 4/28/2006 12:37:05 AM |
