Friend of mine got a civic with 150k miles on it, the TB was last changed at 93k, i mentioned it wouldnt be a bad idea to change. Anything out of the ordinary or is it pretty straight forward?

But why change it, it's got another 30K before it's recomended?

yeah them honda crankshaft bolts are NO JOKE. otherwise should be straightforward if its a sohc.
unless your waterpump is leaking already might be better off leaving it as is.
also you will need a butterknife to adjust your valves before you toss the valve comer gasket back on

Replace the water pump. The only time I didn't was on my Teg, and I ended up replacing the water pump AND the timing belt when the water pump bearings went tits up 30k miles after the initial job.

I always replace the pump if the timing belt runs in front of it or if the belt drives the pump.

It's an extra 30 minutes to do, and it gives you an excuse to change the coolant as well. Not a bad thing at all.

thats how it always works

would be like replacing a clutch and not doing the rear main seal
