1978 Suzuki RM400 motocross bike

I bought it as a project, but I don't have time to work on it. It runs when you poor gas in the spark plug hole, the carb needs cleaned to run properly. tires are good, shocks are good. This was the fastest bike around in its day.

is the dirty carb why it won't start or is there something else wrong that you know of?

i don't know why it won't run right. If I kick it over long enough it'll run for a few seconds and then die, like its starving for fuel. my foot tires out before i can ever get it really going. as far as I know the engine itself is good. it seems to have good compression (for a 2 stroke), the brakes work, clutch works, and the tires are decent enough.

the rear shocks have a good charge, the front could probably use a little air and maybe seals (which cost $5)
