I went by the leasing office today and they said they will most likely be able to get me a 1 bedroom sometime in my requested dates (May 31st-July 31st move-in) and the process will be expedited if I bring in my check stub/200 dollar deposit tomorrow so I don't know about how full they are.

I would love to live there. Seems like a really great deal.

I just got an apartment there for next year. Definately turn in that $200 deposit. Thats what I did and my application got put on the top since I was the only one with money turned in.

I loved it there. It's so close to campus, rent wasn't bad, the tarheel company that leases them never gave me problems, and it's pretty quiet compared to a place like Preiss company apartments.

I'm thinking about moving back in a few months.

Ivy Commons is great as long as you don't live right next to the hispanic community with their Sunday morning fiestas.

Yeah I live here too. Got a slight drain fly problem, but that's easily treated with bleach and raid.

It's close enough to walk to campus (which I do all the time) and the frat court bus stops out front and just behind the complex (meaning quick way to or from school if you are in a hurry).

It's a deal, the apartments are nice and fairly efficient, and the management isn't terrible.

I got my place!! A one bedroom on the second floor.

I didn't want to be on the first floor.

I move in June 16th-- Watch out Ivy Commons folks.

while the balcony is nicer than the brick porch, not moving you shit up and down stairs is well worth being on the first floor.

I didn't want to be on the first floor for safety reasons...

All I know is that rent is 460 for a one bedroom AND you get a washer and dryer in your room..

Not a bad size either.

I'm in 3530.

[Edited on May 3, 2006 at 9:39 PM. Reason : I sign the lease sometime next week. Whenever I can get up there- Next Tues prob]

Nah, I've had a first floor and third floor at IC, it's definitely worth dragging shit upstairs.

The "hispanic community" right across the hedge is fond of fiestas early on Sundays.

Oh, and don't keep valuables in your car, especially faceplates for aftermarket stereos. My car was broken into the first fucking night here, and I've seen at least 5 other cars with broken windows in the parking lots.

Great- Well my car has its regular market CD player... Although it is a 2006 and metallic blue... so it stands out.... But I guess you face that risk anywhere.

In any case-- this is my first time living alone.

Thank you for all the info ParksNrec

Well, okay, the trick about not getting your car broken into is:

1) Lock it. (Haha @ kimslackey)
2) Don't leave anything in there, ever.

Take stuff into your apartment if it's worth more than a couple bucks.

Ha. I remember when cars were being broken into here. They hit a lot of Mustangs. We never have these problems...maybe because we're not near Crest...

Oh well... Earplugs... and safety precautions for car...

But a car can get broken in to anywhere in that area... so I may be due.

I was just happy to get any end.. You can't beat that price and the w/d. Plus I got the room in less than 24 hours after I expressed interest & now I don't have to worry about finding another place or a roomate.

Plus I get to FINALLY decorate my own place!
