Cheap- but not used. And comfy. I know nothing about THAT kind of furniture.
5/4/2006 12:33:30 PM
Cheap, comfy, but not used does not compute.
5/4/2006 12:36:13 PM
hey, I just IMed you, are u at your computer?
5/4/2006 12:36:20 PM
No-- I'm @ work... but you can PM me.Well not THAT cheap- my parents had said they would buy me a washer & dryer when I got a new place... but now that my new place has those-- I get a couch instead. haha
5/4/2006 12:38:26 PM
You can get a decent couch at Rooms to Go for ~$500.
5/4/2006 12:40:02 PM
Oooh... good thinking...I like: 499.99 499.99 549.99
5/4/2006 12:59:10 PM
Jennifer Convertibles has pretty good prices, plus they're an extra bed. Not sure if they're in NC though.
5/4/2006 1:11:43 PM
5/4/2006 1:16:21 PM
Sorry... I consider 499.99 for a nice couch pretty damn cheap- obviously beyond you though. Cool I'll check Jennifer Convertibles out too.
5/4/2006 1:19:00 PM
$499 is peanutsbut none of those couches look comfy
5/4/2006 1:20:20 PM
321 in Hickorycan't wait to get mine down here when i get my townhouse. most comfortable sofa ever
5/4/2006 1:21:10 PM
Damnit...And I really REALLY wanted you to think my new couch was comfortable... I mean... it is all for you after all. Woe is me....P.S. I think they look super comfy.
5/4/2006 1:24:09 PM
you suck at sarcasmbut seriouslydo you really think $500 would get you a "comfy" couch?I looked at $2k couches and a very few of them were comfortable for my fat ass.
5/4/2006 1:25:34 PM
I wouldn't want my parents to spend that much money on me... And I think they look very comfy... I guess the only way to see is to sit my non-fat ass on one...Maybe your standards are just way too high hooch. [Edited on May 4, 2006 at 1:26 PM. Reason : :booo:]
5/4/2006 1:26:34 PM
just bear in mind that non fat asses are easily poked by uncomfy couches.
5/4/2006 1:28:23 PM
Hah- You can go couch shopping w/ me so we can compare.
5/4/2006 1:32:58 PM
I've lived entirely with couches costing between $0 and $30 for four or five years, and they were all plenty comfortable. But I'm about to holla at some new couches in the next few months, I think.

there is a strip of 321 in Hickory that has a ton of furniture places along itfind some great deals out theremarket was last week as well (IIRC) so some places will be selling last years furniture cheap
5/4/2006 1:40:16 PM
Hmmm... Okay so maybe a couch from Rooms-To-Go is no good..There's a transit damage shop in Lexington (where I'm from) where you can get really nice furniture for really cheap...I got a wooden queen headboard for 118... Sleighbed. So maybe I can find a good deal there...Good luck spöokyjon and that sucks BobbyDigitalHow far away is Hickory?
5/4/2006 1:43:19 PM
about 2 1/2 hoursand I have to agree with bobbydigital about not getting rooms to go furniture (if you plan on keeping it long)
5/4/2006 1:49:07 PM
I have the couch in the first picture for almost 2 years now and I still looks brand new... I have had no quality issues. Plus I havent had any staining issues even though its a lighter color because of the microfiber fabric. Its not the most comfortable couch out there but it was only $500. My boyfriend complains most that it is too narrow so snuggling on the couch just doesnt work.
5/4/2006 2:40:10 PM
Rooms to go quality is def. suspectible. Lazy Boy sometimes has some descent prices if you catch a sale, and the couchs are really well built.

drive to hickory. go to the furniture mall there. buy $1000+ couch for $500. agree rooms to go is pretty bad quality. i stopped by there looking for a bedroom suit once. drawers were stapled (not a good sign at all). leather was "ok". friend had a couch from there.... sagged badly in like a year.
5/4/2006 3:14:38 PM
Oh yeah, exit 126 on I40 will take you to the furniture mart. Its only like a mile off of 40.
5/4/2006 3:16:40 PM
IKEA, IKEA, IKEA, IKEA, IKEA
5/4/2006 3:38:43 PM
Ikea is shit quality too. worse than rooms to go, in my experience.
5/4/2006 3:39:41 PM
Uh, based on the horrid shit you got from Rooms to Go, if the same thing is happening to your IKEA furniture, you are abusing the everliving shit out of it.Ikea stuff is made to last 15-20 years and if you put it together correctly, its damn good stuff, especially for the price.
5/4/2006 3:42:35 PM
i got one at "sofas & seats" on glennwood. was pretty cheap and a sleeper sofa. it isnt the best made piece of furniture, but it was much more comfy than the similarly priced alternatives i saw.[Edited on May 4, 2006 at 3:43 PM. Reason : forget how much, was like 4-500 ish i think for queen sleeper][Edited on May 4, 2006 at 3:45 PM. Reason : i find it very comfy, but it is beginning to sag a lil in the middle.][Edited on May 4, 2006 at 3:46 PM. Reason : .]
5/4/2006 3:42:38 PM
You people are being really helpful. That's awesome. I go home next weekend for Mother's Day so I might stop by a few of these places and def transit damage...I'm glad to hear the opinions on Rooms-To-Go and Ikea.Ikea isn't really my style anyway.
5/4/2006 3:55:04 PM
I got my couch from Rhodes Furniture when it still existed. It's quite possibly the nicest couch to ever exist, but it was by no means cheap.
5/4/2006 4:04:06 PM
get a nice futon
5/4/2006 4:05:11 PM
5/4/2006 4:06:38 PM
IKEA is NOT made to last 15-20 years. It's good looking, it's cheap as hell, but most stuff you buy from there won't survive a move. I love IKEA, but I don't expect my $70 dining room table to last.
5/4/2006 4:18:42 PM
People who want furniture to last get it custom made with good quality wood like teak.
