Has anyone taken this with Hinkle during the semester or over the summer? I have him first summer session and I was wondering how hard the class was and if he has an attendance policy? 5/8/2006 10:34:40 PM |

the key to physics is to have previous semester's exams and it will help you. The physics department at state is sh*t! Total BullSh*t compared to other institutions.

He was a grad student when I had him for PY 212 last year. This may seem contradictory, but he's really cool and laid back, but is actually a really effective teacher as well. I had nuclear physicist Dr. Cotanch for 211, and he couldn't relate penicillin to an orange if he tried, god what an awful professor (at least for non-calc based physics 1). Hinkle actually made me understand the material and instead of struggling for a C I did reasonably well and got a B. The best part was that if he was in the middle of class and his girlfriend called, he would stop class, talk to her for a minute, and then yell at the class with 45 minutes left "go home, get the hell out of here and I'll see you next time." He's a good guy and you'll be fine. 5/9/2006 10:47:39 AM |
