They have been outscored 9-2.

How much of that could be luck?

From ESPN.com

Quote :
"It simply was the latest unlucky bounce for Brodeur. In the opener, neither of Carolina's first two goals were actual shots on net, with deflections pushing the puck over the line. They led to a 6-0 rout for the home team, the worst playoff loss of Brodeur's famed career, and he and his teammates promised a better effort in Game 2."

Honestly, deflected shots happen ALL the time in Hockey. That's half the reason guys just shoot the damn puck from far out hoping it will deflect into the goal.

maybe it's just my inferiority complex, but sportscenter seemed to be biased towards NJ. one commentator said "I think game 3 will be the best game of the series"...

Last night went into overtime, i'm not sure how a game can get much better than that?

...AND let's not forget who let those first two "lucky bounce" goals go off of himself. It's not like it was an idiot defensemen play. The "flawless" Brodeur was letting garbage bouce off of him and into the net.

1. Hockey "purists" don't think a team belongs here. Somehow, they think Phoenix is A-OK, though.
2. ESPN still smarts over losing the Whale, which is the only time professional sports will hover that close to their offices ever again.

They also said that the Devils have the best chance of any 0-2 team (as of yesterday) at coming back and winning the series, because Marty Brodeur's balls were sweaty or something during the first two.

WTF?
