^FYI, anecdotal evidence from 1 game where coach K readily admits he gave up the inside does not prove that herb sufficiently used ced.


Try looking at points in the paint, shot attempts per game, fouls drawn down low, and other things that are evidence of using a big man.

Or you could just watch the games

it was well-known that in high school all he was great at was blocking shots. I even read that he had virtually no offensive skills and could only dunk. based on the few minutes he played at duke i know the kid is not that good. even mccauley is much better than him.

2 minutes a game over a whole season is like 80 minutes. and some games he didnt play most of his minutes came from a few games where he played almost 10. hes terrible and didnt play for a reason. dont you think coach k wouldve used him over boykin or an injured patrick johnson if he was anywhere near decent?

I know he didn't always run the "modified Princeton offense of Ultimate Doom" for his entire run here, but by the time he was gone it sure as hell looked like it was the only thing he knew now matter how bad it was getting torn apart.

Which is not to say that I think we were a bad team. We were just a team that was always going to get eaten by a talented and athletic team with, you know, a coach that would change his team's gameplan if it wasn't working.

It's funny how you say that. You are correct. He changed after the first five years when Hodge came in and used the Princeton O the last 5 years. Ironically we started making the NCAA tournament, but the offense is the reason he gets forced out.

I know what the Modified Princeton Offense The Likes Of Which Made God Himself Shiver is what got us to the dance, but it got us far enough that we shouldn't have needed it anymore, if that makes sense. We were good enough to attract athletes like Grant, but still used an offense that didn't let them play their strengths.

According to several people close to the program and other sources from PP Premium, Sendek was already beginning to change away from the Princeton-style Offense because he was getting athletic talent that could compete straight-up with the best in the country (like Simmons, Fells, Wright, etc)
