Doesn't look like I can download Windows Movie Maker and run it successfully on Windows 2000... unless somebody knows better.

I know the Adobe stuff is sweet but also expensive, I'm not getting into any serious stuff yet. Is there any decent + FREE (non-trial) video editing software for basic video/audio effects and titles.

And one more for the road: Is there any free software available to students? I would even upgrade to XP so I could just use WMM.

WMM wont run on Win2k. I tried it back in the day with no luck. And it's definitely not officially supported. I don't think are runtime patches for it either.

You'd be better off just upgrading to XP anyway.

^Noen, i remember hearing something a while back about free software (ie. XP) for students, but I think it may have been only for certain colleges... do you know anything about that?

college of engineering students only. CSC and CPE/EE for certain, might be in other departments as well.
