so yeah, i managed to not be a paulsy and fixed the pc i have been making help threads for. so here is my new question. I want to sell this thing for a decent chunk. I have all of the programs and whatnot from my new laptop that i am loading on there now. my brother in law is a programer/computer freak and has 1000's of differenet types of software for just about anything anyone would want to do. any suggestions of programs i should throw on here to up the resale rate. in other words, are there any real expensive real usefull programs i should put on it that would help me sell it for more. thanks

^no, i have not loaded any of the random shit he has- he lives in Georgia and just said if i need anything he would send it out. all i have loaded is the typical stuff that came with computer. ie: microsoft office small business, adobe photoshop,norton antivirus, etc. all things that i have purchased with my new laptop and orginal stuff from this pc. nothing is "pirated" or copied. all original

^^ Microsoft office, adobe photoshop, etc. do not typically just come with a computer. You pay extra for them. If the copies you're installing on this machine are being installed on multiple computers, then you're pirating them unless the license specifically allows you to do that.

when we purchased the pc originally we got the full setup with it. came with a whole software bundle including office and various nonsensical other programs. i did however downloa phtotshop software from new laptop to this pc. should i take it back off? am i going to get all kinds of shit trying to sell this pc with "pirated" copy of photoshop?

you're going to get all kinds of shit here, for certain.

You may be able to get away with it when you actually sell it, but it's still illegal as well as unethical. Most people aren't going to pay you any more for having extra software loaded onto a used computer anyway, unless they're stupid.

ok, point taken so i will remove photoshop and just sell it with original OS and office small business. now, how do i find out the exact specs on this pc. i know it is a Dell Dimension 4400, pentium 4 processor, 512 mb ram, and 1.69ghz. how do i find out HD size and is there other info i should include while selling?

Look at the side of your computer, it should have a Dell Service Tag # on it. Look that up on Dell's website. There's your computer specs.

ok. so the only thing i have ever sold that may have bee halfway ilegitimate would have been the Modded xbox and that was me just being ignorant to the product i was selling. and all it took for that was a fuckin drive cleaner and it was sold the next day. what else have i ever tried ripping someone off with? How about let people make a determination on what to buy by:
A) researching product
B)inquiring about history of sed product
C) looking at and using the product
D) analyzing the seller
E)and not deciding to stray away from something becasue some D-BAG decides to be an ass and write "it's busted and full of illegal software" both of which are lies
