i just got a new laptop, cheapy just for composition and excel
came with word pad.....i booted that, or thought that i did... and installed office
how do i set it up so that all files are opened with MS word?
currently all saved documents are saved with word pad, even after composing in MS word

open the file explorer, go to Tools -> Folder Options, open the File Types tab, find the DOC extension and change its stuff there
