I know it is recent, but I cannot remember many moments better than Pujols homer off Brad Lidge to win game 5 last year.

Too bad still lost the series.

ya I was like the only person left in the stands because I looked to make sure the ref didn't call some bullshit. I just stood in the stands with my hands on my head for a while in shock.

oh and did i mention the ref waited til after he saw it go in to blow the whistle and call the travel. and this happened right in front of the visitors' section no less

Like in person?

Either Game 6 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals in '99 @ MSG or Game 7 of the NHL Eastern Conference finals @ MSG.

Ever that I remember watching?

Games 4-7 in the 2004 ALCS. Game 4 in the 2004 World Series.

My favorite in person was Cam Bennerman's 3 to send the game into OT this past year.

I almost had a heart attack and talked soo much shit to those Clemson douchebags.

NY Giants playoff loss to SF 49ers.
NY Giants up by 30+ points in 3rd quarter and lost.
Garcia and TO were suddenly unstoppable.
NYG failed on the "winning" FG as time expired. Botched snap, holder tries to throw for a TD.
FLAG: pass interference & illegal man down field. offsetting penalties, game over.
However, the next day, the refs appologized for failing to remember the illegal man was really legit, b/c he was the 1 lineman on the NYG FG unit on the official submitted roster that was designated as a down field option. whooops

I'm a huge NYG fan, so this was a painful memory.

sitting down and putting my head in my hands in disbelief as i watched the student section flood the field after the touchdown was reversed.

Listening to my g/f's dad talk shit, then fucking the hell out of his daughter later that night.

3 basketball moments - the comeback against Wake in '04 (I vividly remember Melvin's 3-pointer to tie it up towards the end, being unable to do anything but embrace vinylbandit whilst jumping up and down), beating Duke a week later (walking out into the snow is a memory that has stayed with me), and UConn to go the Sweet 16

Edmonds walkoff in game 6 of the '04 NLCS

Darryl Kile's death (I was at Wrigley when they announced the game would be cancelled)

N.C state crushes Notre Dame in 2003 Gator Bowl...

im in front row of the endzone and loving every second of it.

also,
Jeff Wilkins missing the kick to beat us in the NFC Divisional playoff...i thought it was in and our season was over. when it came up short i began crying and convulsing on the floor (no joke).

OH...and in attendance..
my 1st road NCSU game as a student. NCSU @ VT. 2004. unbelievable ending that i thought we had lost and we won and i was in the VT student endzone getting shit for everything. god that was a worthy trip.

watching Duke beat Kentucky in '92...... I remember the game because I was with my parents in a hotel. I doubt i would remember it if I had been in a normal setting.....

also, I was sitting on the floor when Hodge made the shot to Beat UCONN last year..... I think I will always remember that one....

oh shit I forgot about Duke-Kentucky

That's a huge memory for me because I think it's probably the first time I ever watched a college basketball game. I flipped on the television and there were like 2 seconds left and Grant Hill was in-bounding the ball. I turned to my dad and made some comment about how Duke was going to lose, then turned back to see the most amazing shit ever. Mom must have thought we were crazy jumping around like that.

I was behind in the endzone when we TA stretched out in 30T and came up short at the goalline to beat Ohio State. Best roadtrip/road game ever. Also went down to FSU that same year and watched us lose another OT game. Wasn't as memorable, but still pretty good.

Also when Nutpunch Paul hit that last second shot to beat us in Raleigh. We were only up like 3 or 4 points with less than a minute left and the dumbasses that are collectively "NC State Fan" started to pile behind the baskets ready to rush the court. I preceded to scream profanities at everyone telling them the game is not over, almost getting into a couple fights. Then when Chris Paul drained that shot to win the game, I was in a fit of rage I had never been in and cursed out every single kid that passed by me back on their way to their original seats and out of the RBC.

Motherfucking stupid students jinxed us. And why are all my memorable memories of games that we lost???

This is by far one of my best sports moments as well. I was on the 45 yard line in the student section. It was crazy how that whole place was louder than hell one second, and you could hear a pin drop the next second!!!

1a) Firing MOC
1b) Herb leaving for ASU

Seriously though, I'd have to say State upsetting #1 uncch in Reynolds back in '95. uncch was loaded with Stackhouse and Rasheed Wallace. State's win over FSU in '98 and the Notre Dame Gator Bowl win are up there too.

Non-NC State would be the Redskins' Superbowl wins, Cal Ripken passing Gerhig, Earnhardt's death at Daytona (didn't like him at all, but it rocked the Nascar world), Randolph Childress owning carolina in the ACC tourney finals, just to name a few.

Earnhardt's death stands out. Even the few minutes after the wreck, you knew something was wrong. Earnhardt didn't get out of his car or let the window net down. Schrader going over to Earnhardt's car to check on him. Darrell Waltrip's euphoria over Michael winning and then going back to Earnhardt's wreck and saying as if to convince himself, "Dale will be allright, there's no reason he wouldn't be." Seeing Schrader go over to Dale Earnhardt Jr. to tell him he should get in the ambulance (can't hear anything of course, just a camera far away seeing them talk). Schrader being interviewed before the broadcast went off and he said more than once, "I'm not a doctor, I got out of the way."

Looking back, it just gave you an eerie feeling before you were informed officially of his passing. Here Earnhardt had his two cars running 1-2, he was holding back for 3rd to ensure they won, and in ultimate irony, when he was not charging and gunning for the win, he got caught up in a wreck that took him.

this year: Game 2 of Hurricanes Vs Devils. When Eric Staal scored that goal with exactly 3 seconds left in the game to tie it up. I have never been anywhere that fucking loud. I couldnt hear my hand slapping that of every hand within a 10 foot radius of my seat, I almost fell off the balcony from jumping up and down, the whole arena was going insane.
