here in north raleigh by capital and 540 we had horizontal rain, some hail, sustained winds of 28-30mph and gusts up to 60mph...540 is SHUT DOWN its so bad. It ripped siding off our apt buildings, and broke some windows.

yeah, there must have been a tornado that tore through my neighborhood in north raleigh. some guy said he saw it:
"A homeowner on Salem Woods Drive off Falls of Neuse Road told WRAL that he saw a tornado form and touch down."

that was a downburst (strong windgust from a t-storm) not a tornado

I always thought it was weird how WRAL always uses the same URL.

You would think that would be pretty taxing on its server because all the websites that link to it, would keep asking for refreshes since it would be unable to cache the picture on the viewer's webcache.

Does that make any sense?

Like the radar picture DJ Lauren posted back on May 25th. At the time it was a radar image for that date, but since it is always updating it now shows current radar information for today, June 23rd.

So if all of us are downloading that same picture everytime we access this thread wouldn't it some crazy web traffic?
