I don't smoke or drink, and if I lost 200 lbs, I would weigh 75 lbs.

Oh...and I AM married...just separated. Will be divorced in September.

Benefits? I work for the family company. There are three of us...myself, my brother-in-law, and my father.

Dad basically said to go get insurance and the company would pay for it. He wasn't banking on more than about 300 dolla a month. My bro-in-law is a year younger than I am, and he's probably in worse shape, health-wise, but his payments are on the order of $150 a month.

I had BCBS blue advantage for a couple months and it was only $75/mo. My wife had it for only a few bucks more.

I actually called them up and asked them waht I had done to get the "Aids/Cancer/Diabetics/Wets Himself" rate. They were not amused.

^^Well...what did they say?

I was thinking about something...one of the questions on the application was concerning prostate enlargement or any prostate problems.

I remember about five years ago, I actually went to WakeMed and got checked out because I had some pretty bad pain in my wang/urinary tract when I went to piss. Turns out my prostate was inflamed and a little enlarged.

Now the big deal is this: I had been having phenomenal amounts of sex for the past month or two, to the point where my dick was raw. Multiple times a day, every day. Right after a long dry spell.

Other than that I have had one prostate infection about 12 years ago. Got checked for that, given doxycycline, and it cleared up. Nothing since, except occasional pain here and there when urinating after sex or wanking it. But that's happened ever since I started wanking it and it started spitting back at me.

The quote I got from BCBS recently was about $800/month, and it wouldn't cover preexisting conditions for the first year I had it. So, basically, a $10,000 buy-in. One of the main reasons I've started excercising and eating right.

I'm fat, I have migraines, and I was taking antidepressants for about five years.

I hardly ever go to the doctor, and basically the only expense to the insurance company would be a bottle of Midrin (for migraines) once every three or four months. I sure as shit hope I don't get in a car wreck or something, because I'll be fucked.

You have GOT to be mistaken. It had to have been $740 for 6 months, not 1 month. $123/month is a reasonable quote, depending on what coverage you're looking at and how high a deductible you would have.

What the fuck? Do you have a family?

My BCBS high deductible plan is 88/mo

You can't go comprehensive, you can't go dental, you can't go eye

Mine is $1500 deductible and then 0%/0% on EVERYTHING!

That can't be right. For a family of four, with
- one parent grossly overweight, long history of mental health problems, and fibromyalgia
- one parent moderately overweight, with chronic heart problems and diabetes, and mental health issues
- two kids

My parents were paying ~$850/month.

There's nothing that could make that worth it

That was United Healthcare, a year or two back?

Now we've got some noname policy that is pretty much good only for inpatient...ok, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but the coverage is so shitty we're all behaving like we're uninsured.

I'm considering working at starbucks so I can have decent health insurance.

I am thinking about increaseing my deductible after this year, I dont even use it and i am paying 123 a month. When i got it a year and a half ago, it was under 100 for 1k deductible. I just looked at all there plans, the best seller is 2500 deductible and about 10 less a month, i think i will switch to that one. It has the same stuff my plan has except the deductible of course. If something bad happens, i figure it will cost more than 2500.

Oh, I would have stuck it out. I didn't have a whole lot of choice, though. I wanted to, but she didn't at the time. Unfortunately I think there's too much water under the bridge, and too many things have happened to make reconciliation a really viable idea. We could reconcile, and get back together, but there are serious trust issues that would require lots of work.

It's very sad...I think we both feel sad about it. It's a shame, because there are so many things I love about her, and I still love her. If I was to really get emotional about it all, I'd say I love her more than I've ever loved anyone in my life.

But her lifestyle, upbringing, and values don't really coincide very well with mine, though there was a time when we were pretty damn compatible. I personally think that you can write your own destiny (at least for the most part), and that life is what you make of it. A lot of life is hard work, and being with somebody in a long-term highly committed relationship is often no picnic. I think we could have pulled it off, but it would have taken a lot of work. I really think that we needed outside help, pretty much from day one. We just never got it.

There are a lot of things I would have done differently though, if I were to go through with marriage to the same person. I'd have handled things differently.

We're not divorced yet; our mandatory one-year period of separation will be officially completed at the end of August. I have to admit, this is a heartbreaker, and I'm actually not handling it as well now as when we first got separated. I'm not looking forward to the actual divorce. I'm only hoping and wishing that she finds her way, and that her life gets in gear, and she's happy and comfortable. I can take care of myself. I'll be okay one day...physically, anyway. I'm far from okay right now emotionally.

I recently got quoted at nearly $600/mo because I had high blood pressure. I double-checked to make sure it was by the month and not every 3 or 6 months, and it was in fact every month.

I dunno about healthcare, until I get married I probably just won't ever go to the doctor. It'd be crazy expensive for me anyway because I've already had several surgeries.

I'm more worried about paying my car insurance after I graduate. Good god that's gonna be high, I had to sign a waiver letting them charge my parents over the legal limit.

Yeah, I'm a little overweight. But not morbidly obese. I wear a fucking size 56 jacket, for fuck's sake. Each of my legs is friggin' huge.

My waist is about 40.

Try Aetna. Also Use BC Blue Options, I can give you the number to an agent that can get you $125 (or a little over) a month.

and i dont understand how you people are getting quotes for 800+ a month from BCBS. maybe if you get the most expensive plan, sure. but be reasonable, get something mid range and you should be fine.
