So I installed FC5 today on a computer at NCSU. DHCP is not working correctly is about all I can tell. I put in a some DNS servers manually, but still nothing. I can activate it the device, but no connection. This is on an old lab computer so I am unsure as to whether it is part of resnet or not. Thanks for any help.

So is it yours? What building is it in? If it's in a residential building like tucker/owen/etc, call ITD or ComTech about the port being inactive. Otherwise talk to whoever does IT support for that building/department.

With the exception of the dorms, the IPs have to be manually assigned to a MAC address matching the machine in question by the departmental IT coordinator.

well it was originally set up to work, but the guy with all the usernames left town and no one could get root access so I had to wipe it. Is there an easy way to figure out what IP was assigned before or should I just try to figure out who IT for EB1 is?
