I want to connect my ipod to my car cd player directly so that I avoid the static involved in the itrip. I don't have an auxiliary input, but one of my friends hooked something up to the back of his cd player that gave him a direct line to plug the ipod into. Unfortunately, he doesn't really know how he did it. Anyone know how this can be done?

here are some pinouts of cd changer plugs, DIN or otherwise - maybe your car type is there.

you'd have to splice a 1/8" headphone cable into where the L and R channel outputs go and hope the connection is good enough to not fuck over the sound quality.

Head units with an 1/8" in jack are pretty common now though.

or just drop $5 on a premade 1/8" to dual rca jacks

Sometimes doing that will only send music to your front speakers. I think in that case you have to get a special converter for your specific head unit.

why dont you get one of those Belkin things that play thru the radio. Although Im not familiar with an itrip, my sirius plays through the radio fine w/o static. the only time I have static is when I use a frequency that is used by a radio station
