who do you think recruited the incoming class, or failed to have a point guard for the majority of his career at State? And as a result, why do you think everyone beat us in prior years by utilizing the full court press? 6/5/2006 11:07:56 PM |

You mean the one in which 2/3s of won't be coming because Herb left??? One who is being heaving recruited by Florida and Kentucky and the other who would have been the solid backup PG that we needed?? That person???
Quote : | "or failed to have a point guard for the majority of his career at State?" |
You mean Justin Gainey for 4 years?? Cliff Crawford for 4 years (yeah he wasn't great, but he was a top 60 PG coming out of high school)?? Tony Bethel for 2 years?? Not all-word PGs...but we had some PGs. And there was that soon-to-be McDAA PG we had coming in from the 2007 class.

Maryland got us twice with that press. Other than that...we handled the press as well as any other team...especially the last couple years.6/6/2006 7:38:47 AM |

^People need to stop bitching about what he didn't do then.
All jbrick is doing is stating the facts. Gainey, Crawford, Atsur, and Bethel were decent PGs. 6/6/2006 8:49:08 AM |

i agree with thte second part of your post, but of davis, werner and horner (??) there was no PG's in that bunch. davis was supposed to be a sg/sf tweener and the toher two were supposed to be sf/pf tweeners6/6/2006 9:41:52 AM |

he was fired by public opinion and forced out of town by the people who essentially pay his salary
i'd say that's just about equal to being fired
^ Davis, a 6'3" SF?

Is Engin really not coming back? I mean I know he has his problems, but he would be good enough considering what we have now.
You think Courtney Fells can run the point? He seems to be pretty quick with the ball and have good control...he brought it up the floor under pressure a few times last year and I was impressed with his dribble.
I also have a feeling that our offense will be so fast next year nobody will have time to press to be honest with you. We have no big guys, so we're gonna run for 40 minutes straight to counter that. 6/6/2006 11:10:07 AM |

Some 6-3 doucher from Iowa State that redshirted last season. He did average 18 points in high school, but idk how good a redshirted pg from iowa state is unless he was injured, but they said he practiced behind their two starting guards this year. I also dont keep up with iowa state, so i have no idea how good his competition for a starting spot was. 6/6/2006 11:43:34 AM |
