Sure is a hell of alot more hull to cut through. And none of the weapons on either side are obviously more powerfule. Therefore SW winz.

why is it that the two series are solely judged by which one has the biggest ships/deadliest weapons? Star Trek (even some of the more recent stuff) is far more sophisticated than star wars could ever hope to be, wars is more for your slightly below average simpleminded joe who desires to avoid thinking as much as possible. Trek covers the whole spectrum of the human condition, war peace diplomacy politics religion morality and the advancement of science and technology for more than just blowing up things. 6/11/2006 9:35:32 PM |

there is no question that the scientific rhetoric in TNG is superior to star wars, one can the conclude, the trek universe is scientifically superior, and therefor, would have superior weapons.
also, having huge ship causes major technical issue -- the small ships would be deadly, as they would be more nimble and more structurally sounds. a large ship, unless structured like a borg cube that could regenerate, would have portions that are just as susceptible to damage, thus by doing the same amount of damage to an area of a large ship and a small ship, would have a more devastating effect becuase the larger ship would require more people to operate. in sum, you could do more human and tactical damage to a larger ships compared to smaller ones with the same amount of firepower bc all your eggs would be in that one basket -- thus making huge ship sizes a tactical mistake.

Star Wars took place a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away (500 BBY or something).
Star Trek, even in Enterprise, takes place in the future (2151 AD).
Assuming that more modern technology is always better, Star Trek wins. 6/11/2006 10:04:09 PM |

Do you remember how they destroyed the Death Star in the movie? A well placed shot from the enterprise could wipe it out.
Plus, the tech. in Star Trek superior to star wars (they have transporters!), so I bet the weapons would be better too.6/11/2006 10:13:25 PM |

Thats because they only have pussy ass scientists and academics in TNG.
There arnt any of those in star wars because they are on a research station building better weapons. The only thing you find on war cruisers in star wars IS MOTHERFUCKING SOILDERS TO KILL YOU WHILE YOU TALK ABOUT THE MORALITY OF EWOKS!!!1116/11/2006 10:58:29 PM |

The ships' technologies in Star Trek are FAR superior to what they've got in the Star Wars universe, but if you had any sort of man to man combat, SW would beat the ST asses. 6/11/2006 11:49:12 PM |

Even in star trek they are constantly finding technology from long dead civilizations that is vastly superior to their own. the SW galaxy has something like 40,000 years of recorded history for just one civilization. the federation and the other major star trek powers have at most a few millenia and most have only been space borne for a few hundred...
This is really a toss-up though
SW advantages: Numbers; the imperial fleet is said to have something like 20,000 star destroyers in one of the source materials. the federation could barely muster something like 700 ships for one of the bigger battles with the dominion (i know federation had more but we are talking about maybe 2,000 federation ships total) when taking into account federation, klingon, romulan, dominion, borg they'd still probably have way fewer numbers than imperial, republic, hapan, and the few other major SW powers. Speed; SWs hyperdrives seem much much faster than ST warp speeds. SW universe uses their whole galaxy. ST universe takes 70+ years to travel from one quadrant to another Superlasers; Death star type weapons are hard to beat Force; not really that much of an advantage since jedi take a while to train and are few in number
ST advantages: Technology; transporters alone would be able to win every single battle assuming SW shields operate on a different principle than ST shields and can be penetrated by transporters. ST weapons also appear much more accurate than their SW counterparts Q; really not a fair advantage but if included would be an automatic win assuming jedi couldn't do something force related to somehow negate Q type powers Borg; able to quickly adapt, probably only vulnerable to superlaser type weapons (not really anything to adapt to, 1 shot kills)
I enjoy both universes.

yea they win bc they have magic
there is no magic or made up forces in star trek, so when their universes colided, if they did, there would be no 'force'
phaser/photon torpedos; these are based on physics, not magic.

I think if you look at the power output per ship, even the weakest imperial warships destroy the Enterprise.
Furthermore, because Star Wars doesn't care about science and can make up whatever, TNG loses. Always. 6/12/2006 10:01:59 AM |
