http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/nfl/06/11/bc.fbn.chargers.rivers.ap/index.html

Quote :
" SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has thrown but 30 NFL passes. On Sunday, he got a passing mark from coach Marty Schottenheimer as the Chargers completed their weekend minicamp.

"Its hard for me to give A's to anybody this early, Schottenheimer said. "But I would say a B-plus. I thought he did a terrific job. I was very pleased.

So was Rivers. The teams new man under center was upbeat about his showing in the five sessions over three days.

"I felt like I had some good practices, said Rivers, who was promoted after general manager A.J. Smith deemed Drew Brees to be damaged goods due to a shoulder injury, letting him leave as a free agent. "Im probably as hard on myself as anyone. So if there is one bad play or you finish on a bad play -- it may not be a terrible play -- but that kind of ruins the day for yourself. You walk off and let one play bother you.

"But I felt as a whole I walked off here feeling good about the weekend -- about where I am in my progress, about where our offense is, where our team is. I think we are definitely on pace to be where we need to be for training camp.

That doesnt come until Julys final week. The Chargers have three more practices in their offseason coaching sessions.

The Chargers are banking on Rivers, the fourth pick of the 2004 draft, to pick up where Brees left off. Brees, a one-time Pro Bowler, led the Chargers to 20 victories over the past two seasons, and their first playoff appearance in 2004 since 1995.

Pro Bowl running back LaDainian Tomlinson -- like the rest of the organization -- is anticipating Rivers getting acclimated quickly.

"Expect us to be good, Tomlinson said. "At times it is going to take a little patience because every quarterback goes through a learning curve out on the football field; learning defenses and learning game speed. But I think (fans) can still expect us to be good and not to worry."

"I think we all forget he has been in the offense three years now. He knows the offense well. So I think the first part of learning that you have to do is learning the offense and hes past that part. Now its just a matter of getting experience on the field.

Rivers does need to catch up to Tomlinson, though. Rivers has thrown one career touchdown pass, which puts him three behind Tomlinson."

didn't see a live thread to post this in....

JP Losman is such a conceited piece of crap - can't even give a semi-normal pose on a joke-type card.

^ Have you ever heard JP Losman talk or seen the way he acts during interviews. He acts as if he is God's gift. His pose in on that football card is more of his "I'm the center of the universe" attitude.
