These turtles were purchased in florida, pre-2004. Therefore, owning these turtles is not against the law. And Samenella is not a huge risk with these turtles.

And I am selling the tank, light, heat lamp and rocks for $75. The turtles must go with the tank.

it is NOT illegal to own turtles in NC, just to sell them although i have seen plenty of places do it with the "for educational purposes" only loophole. the salmonella risk is one instituted by the federal govt and is the reason it is illegal to sell turtles under 4". in reality though, the risk of salmonella from your pet turtle is very very low and almost non-existant should you follow proper reptile husbandry practices.

I think its a 25 gallon tank. Its pretty large.

Benny(boy) is about 3 inches max in diameter, Assface(girl) is just a tad bit bigger.

There is a filter, but honestly, it sucks. You'd probably want to go buy a new one.

Not sure the brands of all the equipment, but it was all bought from petsmart if that makes any difference.

Guess I should go do a little research and I'll get back with pics as well.

Question for ya Lutra: Do you have a problem with me owning the turtles? If not, why do you have a big problem with me selling them? Why they prohibit selling turtles in NC is because they are affraid people are going to buy them, not want them, and just dump them into a waterway.

These were received as a gift (unwanted one at that) but we took care of them for the past 4 years. We cannot have them in the new appartment, so we're trying to get rid of them. Would you rather have me go dump them into Crabtree creek? Whats the problem here?

Seriously the reason is salmonella. Parents were buying them for their kids and the kids were getting sick. I know the pediatrician that lobbied for the ban on turtle sales. Personally I think it is stupid, but whatever.

well, if you're retarded enough to get salmonella from turtles, you probably shouldn't buy them. If you do touch them, obviously wash your hands. But the bigger problem is people releasing them where they are not in their natural habitat and they destroy the current habitats. Thats why there are turtle rescues set up. Its $75 OBO.

Still up for grabs though.

The tank is a 25 gallon tank. The light is a repti-glo exoterra 5UVB, 15 Watt bulb. The heatlamp is by Zoo Med Laboratories and is a 120 volt, 100 watt heat lamp. The tank is solid with no cracks or dings. But the filter sucks, so I didn't even bother to look. Any other questions feel free to ask. I have someone coming on saturday but is only offering $40, so I'll be fielding other offers until then, but $75 and its all yours.
