I brought this rabbit with me to Raleigh from back home thinking I could train it to use a litter box and have it in my apartment as an indoor pet. The litter box training just isn't working so im looking for a new home for this little guy. He, or she, is very friendly once he/she gets used to you. However, as I said before he/she is having trouble learning to use the litter pan. I got the rabbit from my aunt because her kids did not care for it good enough. She said that the rabbit is a mix between a dwarf and some other breed and probably wouldn't get much bigger as it is about four months old. He/she is roughly a foot long and weighs no more than a pound. I will pitch in his water bottle, food, food tray, and the pan I intended to be a litter pan. Pictures are in my gallery.

have you tried wiping the area the bunny pees in with a newspaper or paper towel and putting it in the litter box??

i did this with my bunny and he was trained in 2 days.

also where do you keep his litter box? and what kind of litter do you use?
and even if he isn't potty trained.... do you not keep him in a cage?
oscar only pees in his potty but he does poo a little outside it in his cage to mark his area.

don't give up the rabbit so soon... go to the library or online and look up some training techniques.. I'm sure with a little perserverance(sp?) it will work out

Ok, sorry I forgot to add the pictures after posting. They are in the gallery now. Also, yes I did put all poop and pee-soaked tissues into the litter box and he still doesn't get it.

Definitely can't go about caring for an animal like this without a cage lol. Even dogs need a crate for housetraining and during owner absences. If you don't want to try further, good luck with the home placement.

if you don't have a cage, you can get one for like $50 at petsmart... he needs his own house.

thats a broken mini rex cross (my guess.. i cant remember what other breed has those markings.. but rexs do.. and i had a few rex crosses that had longer hair like that)
definitely not a dwarf cross - look at the ears.

from my experience and what i've heard - you need to start by training the rabbit in a cage. rabbits will use a certain area to expel. put the litter pan there. then start leaving the door open to the cage. then eventually remove the cage and leave the litter pan.

you need to have a little patience. it can take a matter of days or weeks.

ok that rabbit is definitely not one pound. and they dont stop growing at 4 months. my rabbit is a year old and still growing.
