Okay, I meant to have some time to look at this and see about fixing it but haven't yet and it needs to go.

Specs:
Dell Inspiron 8000
Pentium 3 processor - 900MHZ
System shows up with 384 MB system ram (?)
16 MB ATI M4 Video Card
1 battery
Floppy drive
1 CD RW/DVD drive
Charger
Originally had ME installed so that's what the sticker on it has the key for.


To my knowledge-
battery fully charges, and the case looks to be in good condition.

The original owner took it to Dell to find out what was wrong and supposedly it is both the harddrive and the screen that have gone, I hooked it up to a CRT and put in Knoppix to test this- and it seems to be the case. The video card seems to be working fine, and Knoppix spits out errors on the HD on trying to mount it for boot.

According to the original owner (as obviously I cant use it) everything else works, which as far as I can tell seems to be the case.

This would made an excellent parts laptop. or with a new harddrive a box to hook up to a CRT.

Since there's at least the good charger, battery, dvd drive and floppy drive for a similar dell-
Bidding starts at $30.

Will deliver in Raleigh, outside that you need to come to N. raleigh to pick it up
