My girlfriend recently moved and she can't keep her cat. His name is Billabong and he is very playful. She got him last fall when he was just a few weeks old. He is potty-trained, has been neutered and received all the necessary shots.

If you're interested PM me, so you can see the cat.

Here are some pictures:

Why did she move somewhere where she'd have to give up her cat?

We do realize the point of this is to get a cat a home right? Whatever mistakes have been made, have been made, and though a short, polite reminder might help some people think before taking it, a full page of ranting isn't really going to help the cat get a home at this point, no matter what you believe. Good luck finding the kitty a home, and hopefully everyone else can keep the ranting down to a dull roar so this cat might have the opportunity to get the kind of home it deserves.

oh i'm sure the cat will find a home, it's been on craigslist at least 3 times. and i will talk shit all i want, because i'm tired of seeing all these ads for people who 'can't keep their beloved animal anymore because we're moving/child is allergic/other excuse.' it's bs, to get an animal when there's even the possibility of not being able to keep it. (granted, a new baby with allergies is kinda serious.) but getting a pet in college when you're probably going to be moving isn't the smartest thing to do. having a friend watch it for a while as you find someplace that does allow pets is a much better alternative than giving it away because, whoops, you're lazy and don't feel like trying to bring an animal along that you've adopted.

^^^^^^You know nothing abut his girlfriend, what gives you the right to call her a whore? Oh that's right, you're a thread bomber, and will try to interfere with any animal threads.
People on here don't understand that the animals will get a home anyway, people read through the bullshit, and see the cat, and get it anyway. Expressing your stupidity over something with circumstances that can't be changed is really just, well, elementary. I know when I got the kittens a home, all the people that came for them said how stupid some of you assholes were and laughed at you.
People like some of you should stay out of these threads, because, if you did deter some cat from getting a home, you know where its going-that's right! The exact place you whine and cry about being too full. Because, some people only have a certain amount of time to find it a home...Think about that next time you wanna bomb somones good intentions.

He's soo cute, and neutered too! I hope you find the little fella a home! I love my orange kitty!

amazon I agree with you except for the allergy part. I used to feel like people could overcome allergies, mostly b/c I knew of a few that could live with animals if they're taking medication. But then my husband's sinuses collapsed as a result of his allergies to my cat, and Singulair is the only thing that will remotely work. But even on Singulair, and after I found a home for my cat, he still had allergic symptoms for several months until all traces had to have left the apt.

^^^^find one that does. before you adopt. OMG WTF IS THIS A NEW CONCEPT??

^^^i don't like you.

^ahh yeah. there are a lot of ads on craigslist for people giving up animals due to allergies. that's understandable, especially if they only discover the allergy when they adopt.

You know nothing abut his girlfriend, what gives you the right to call her a whore? Oh that's right, you're a thread bomber, and will try to interfere with any animal threads.

-What can I say? I'm a bitch. But people need a perverbial slap across the face sometimes. And I will interfere in these sorts of threads because I'm hoping someone out there will read this before they commit to having an animal, you know- actually thinking things out, maybe plan a little for the future, see where they think life with lead and if an animal has a place in it.

People on here don't understand that the animals will get a home anyway, people read through the bullshit, and see the cat, and get it anyway.

-Oh I have an example: An old roommate of mine picked up a cat from this website, who was probably passed around even before that, and after less than 6 or 7 months she couldn't even keep it either- long story. That cat is still here with me. It's taken me a year to cope, pay, and help out with it's behavorial problems from being passed around like this. Does every cat suffer from problems like this one? Probably not. But it's not fair for the cat. I thought about giving her away also, I didn't want to deal with her, I never planned on having two cats, (and now three, since my new roommate has a tabby also). But it's hard to find someone who wants a grown cat with problems. Now, it's a lot better, I've settled with her, I try to make her as happy as I can, and I sort of love her.

Expressing your stupidity over something with circumstances that can't be changed is really just, well, elementary.

-You can't be that stupid can you? Sorry, I'm being a bitch again- I'll try better later.

-Personally, I don't really care about this cat or it's owner.

I care about cats in shelters by donating money to them and volunteering sometimes.

My objective here is make people think before they do. If you think you may ever eventually live somewhere where cats aren't welcomed maybe you shouldn't get a kitten and rather leave it for someone or a family who can adopt it and give it a better home (as a kitten from the start, don't use it temporarily and then dump it)

Before I adopted my tabby-cat- I thought it out first. Cats live on avg for what 15-17 yrs? I save and keep a "cat account" in case I will need emergency money for food, vet bills, etc. I plan on not living somewhere (within the states) where I can't bring Oscar, if I have to move overseas for a period of time I'll do what I have to in order to bring him, if something happens and I can't bring him, I have a plan B and a plan C and he's already extremely familiar with those options and places. If I die, I already know where he's going, where he'll be the safest- and happiest. Am I expecting everyone to be as anal as me- no, but atleast think of where you'll be next year.

Also, I don't expect everyone in the world to care about cats like I do. I say cats because I don't care about all animals, just cats and some dogs (anything that's cute and fuzzy you can put here). That's just how I feel-- just like there's people who hate cats, they can have their opinion- just like I can have mine.

Bottomline is this:
STOP PASSING AROUND CATS ON HERE, IT REALLY FUCKS THEM UP. IF YOU DONT CARE ABOUT THEM THEN JUST DONT GET THEM. GET AN ANIMAL THAT WONT REACT SO BADLY- A HAMPSTER OR SOME SHIT.

^^That's great and all, but it don't make your reasoning for thread bombing and trying to interfere with the adoption of this cat right. I really don't give a shit about you as a person, or what you do about cats in shelters. Interfering with this one is just retarded, and really shows your stupidity and just how much you really care about helping cats find homes. Not everyone has control of where they have to go live. I'm sure she's not happy about giving up this cat, and would prefer not to, but whats done is done-telling her to consider what she was going to do BEFORE SHE GOT THE CAT is far too late. So, all you're doing is getting on here and showing everyone who reads this just hoe much of a bitch you really are.

Really though, all this bitching, whining, and arguing over it isn't helping the cat, so why keep on? Don't answer that, I don;t care to know the answer and it won't help matters any.

Minka your cat account is a good idea. I doubt many people think of that - I never have, and I probably should since I enjoy rescuing animals that my husband isn't allergic to. You never know what could come up, and saving money is probably more beneficial than doing something like pet insurance.
