I signed up for 12 DE hours for the spring. 3 went fine, the fourth the TA F*ed up with my exam and never sent it. He refused to send it after May 9, said I had to wait til the end of Summer I. So, I get an email about unsatisfactory progress thanks to the incomplete on my spring transcript. I email the dude back to fix it. I get my award letter, and I have $400/semester in grants. Previously, I was receiving $4000 in grants because of my awesome GPA. I think the TA cost me $3600, because they probably pulled my grants away between the time they sent me that email and I replied back to fix it. Am I right?PS, I'm waiting for my financial aid officer to call me back. I'm already maxed on my loans - without these grants, I don't fucking graduate, because I don't have $$.

Are you kidding me? Thats terrible.

yep, same thing happened to me, running down to the financial aid office to turn in my forms and my letter to the financial aid officer to grant my appeal, hopefully

That really sucks. I'd hurt that bastard TA.

^^ I wonder if it was the same class .... Are the appeals forms online? I'm going to go look, but if you could post/PM a link if you already know where to find them that'd be awesome.

This is one of those items, unless you live more than 5 hours away, that should be taken care of in person. You'll probably need to run around campus collecting signatures from more than just the financial aid office.

^ What a tool.If someone farked you over $3,600 (I mean, deductive reasoning alone leads one to believe the TA's mishandling caused the grant money to vanish, considering it was the only variable that changed compared to all the previous semesters), you'd be rightfully upset too.

damn, i'd be pissed as hell. Yes, the best thing to do is go to the financial aid office in person. They are indeed much more helpful in person than on the telephone.

My officer did call my back yesterday - some (like 200) was my fault for checking a wrong box ... but the rest was because my package was delayed. They fixed it and are supposed to send me a new award letter. FYI, at the time the award letter was sent I lived 450 miles away, so taking care of it in person wasn't an option. I'm back now, but I'd still have to drag my kids with me, so I'm ecstatic it was resolved over the phone.
