GAIM is a good one, my fav on windows really miranda <- customizable as crap, just some work to do it adium x if you have a Mac, i assume ur on windows tho (my fav overall) then you have AIM and AIM Triton, and the various add-ons like DeadAIM that you can find all over the web 7/6/2006 2:04:15 AM |

I use AIM 4.7 with the ads removed. It works great, is fast, and not flashy like some of the other IM clones 7/6/2006 11:27:32 AM |

i would recommend using gaim. its not pretty but it works without all the crap. I dont recommend using an old version of aim since its probably susceptible to exploits (i.e. spyware, viruses). 7/6/2006 3:20:56 PM |

But since I mostly use my PC, I stick with Trillian, which I've stripped down to basics through skins and turning off all the useless little icon things every program seems to ship with these days. 7/7/2006 2:14:18 PM |

if you're willing to invest quite a bit of time into miranda, it can be everything you've ever wanted out of an IM client.
that being said, it requires quite a bit of effort, and isn't for most people 7/8/2006 8:46:50 PM |

With the amount of Adium recommendations it sounds like it's time for you to invest in a Mac. 7/9/2006 12:25:22 AM |
