i travel every week pretty much monday through thursday - typically my projects are less than 2 months - but the one i'm on now has been going on for over a year - this would only apply to a long-term project - i've had a desk job since i was a senior in HS - i worked 6 months or so at a tj maxx and it was pretty fun in general (i worked in the houseware/lay-a-way area) - had they paid as well as the internship i left for i'd probably have stayed because i liked it - for a fundraiser-type deal i worked at the rbc center at one the stands a few times a few years ago and liked it also - i think it's the people interaction that i don't really get at my primary job

i've considered getting a part-time job for mon/tues/wed nights just to pass the time instead of spending it in a hotel room - ideally i'd only want to work 2 of those nights also - i'm a technical person so i was thinking something like a best buy type job (especially because i would love that discount) - this isn't to make any extra money just more of a time spender - i've realized that there are a few shortcomings to this idea though

typically i am done with work at my primary job by 5-6pm - but if something came up and i had to spend a few extra hours on something there i'd have to skip out on the part-time gig - i don't want to work anywhere that would have me at the hotel after midnight

training would be difficult at a larger place i think due to watching the typical videos and whatnot usually in groups and more than likely at specific times that would be rough with my schedule (i can stay over for a weekend to accomplish this though if need be i'm guessing - i wouldn't stay more than 1 weekend though for something like this)

would any place want to put in the effort to hire/train someone that can only work 3 weekday nights and might have to cancel from time to time - i'd have to have a job where if i was gone it wouldn't be a huge deal i'd think

recommend places that my schedule would work with - or if you are a manager how would you deal with a hiring situation like this

the scheduling with best buy when I worked there was pretty good. They will only let you be avaliable for no less than 4 hours, so the latest they would let you come into work would be 6:15 (since they would put you on until 10:15, which is the latest you would normally work when closing at 9). Weekends are the times though that they count on part time people.

The reason i don't like BB is because they're always on your jock about sales. They brainwash the employees to make them THINK that they are on commission, and anybody that's ever bought anything from there knows that the salesmen push service plans, etc.

But anyways, BB probably offers one of the best discounts of any retail store, and being more technologically inclined makes it even better.

seriously man, just read a ton of stuff. broaden your skills into other areas (technical, business, marketing) - it'll make you a better and more marketable employee. and who doesn't like learning about stuff they like?

^ tearing ticket stubs off, which doesn't have much interaction either or working the projector, which definitely kills that.

Any restaurants nearby? You could be a host. Meets the criteria for people interaction, shuld be very flexible with hours as well.

That's all i got other than retail.

If you're mainly looking for more opportunities to interact with people, is there a local YMCA you could join? I know I meet a shitload of people that way.
