I would like to request some good sources of information on finding a navigation system to be installed into a car that currently does not have one.
what kind of options are available? friend wants to buy one to be put into her 04 honda accord because she always gets lost. i have no knowledge of this topic. 7/18/2006 9:43:59 PM |

pretty much 2 options....
She can go to best buy(or a store like it/online) and get a GPS that is meant for the car with voice commands and all that good stuff. Except it sticks to the window and plugs in the cigarette lighter.(Easy install) Cost approx. $400-1000. I would recommend Garmin since she is a first time user. Some people like a Magellan though..
Other option is replacing the whole indash CD/AM/FM/Cassette with a nav TV. I would recommend the Pioneer Z1 or Pioneer N3. This route cost around $2000 for the product and should be installed by a professional which cost around $100-200. This way she would not only get nav but also be to watch DVD's and I think the new pioneers have a bluetooth option.

My roommate just got a kickass touch-screen Kenwood for $1300. Cost about $200 to have it installed. I've borrowed his truck a few times for both in town and long trips...it works awesome. 7/18/2006 10:23:17 PM |

for 300-400 range ur options are limted to mapquest and google earth. honeslty most of the units under 500$ are now better than looking up directions hold off until you can afford something a little nicer that will actualy save u time and energy. 7/19/2006 2:29:40 PM |
