saw it for the first time tonight. AWESOME MOVIE !!! i love the way they captured the real NYC. and the car chase for the L train was beyond genius. ahead of its time.

Here's a little FC trivia for you.
The detective that Popeye did not get along with was played by Bill Hickman. He is the one who actually did the high speed driving and stunts. (He also did drove the hit man car in "Bullit"....same director) although Hackman did do some time in the car as well. When a car pulls out and Popeye hits it. That was unscripted, and Hackman was driving! Some dude just pulled out in front of him.
Also, the guy who played the Police chief was the real Popeye. I think he's dead now, but appeared in movies and tv ever since TFC.
Another good car chase was in "The Seven-Ups" with Roy Schieder chasing, again, Bill Hickman. 7/20/2006 7:02:14 AM |
