I have a 4th gen 20 gb ipod...all of the sudden it won't charge and won't turn on...it will only show the apple and a folder with an exclamation point...i tried trouble shooting through the website, but new software didn't help and it won't let me reset it...any suggestions? 7/22/2006 7:20:28 PM |

That happened to mine earlier this month, my dad popped it open and made sure the wires were plugged in all the way and it's mostly working again] 7/22/2006 9:03:15 PM |

That sign means there's something wrong with reading from the HD.
If a hard reset doesn't work (toggle hold switch, press play and select at the same time), then try smacking against your hand, with the back side of the ipod hitting your hand. If that doesn't work, it should still probably be under warranty and Apple will fix it (or replace it) for free. 7/23/2006 12:05:39 AM |

get a guitar pick and take it apart. Make sure everything is connected properly. Mine was acting up and I took it apart and re-seated the connections (and replaced the battery) and it has been doing fine ever since. 7/23/2006 9:46:00 PM |
